The Gutenberg Award recognizes exceptional achievement in the field of Graphic Arts. Awards are available for printed items, Web sites, and photographs. Entries may be submitted by graphic arts students at any educational level including those in university, college, community-college, post-secondary technical school, high school vocational, high school technology education, and junior high/middle school technology education programs. There are three different Gutenberg competitions: Print, Web Site, and Photography.
Print competition entries may be submitted in any of the following categories: electronic publishing; lithography; screen printing on paper, textiles, or other substrates; letterpress; flexography; and gravure. Furthermore, entries in any category may be classified into one of these five classifications: electronic design, traditional prepress, single-color printing, spot-color printing, and process color printing. Web Publishing competition judges sites that have been created by students and are available on the Web. Please click on the link for the Web Publishing Contest Entry Form below to find the contest rules. Teachers simply need to eMail the interactive PDF entry form, which includes the Web address of the students sites, to enter their students in the contest. The deadline for the entry forms to be submitted is May 31.
Photography competition entries may be submitted for Black and white, color, and digital photography.
